Sell Your Device Terms & Conditions – GadgetBox.uk

These terms govern the process of selling electronic devices to GadgetBox through our website www.gadgetbox.uk or through our physical store. By submitting a device for sale, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility to Sell a Device

By selling a device to GadgetBox, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are the legal owner of the device.
  • The device has not been stolen, lost, or obtained unlawfully.
  • The device is not subject to any outstanding finance, contract, or lease agreement.
  • The device is not blacklisted or blocked by any mobile network.

GadgetBox reserves the right to refuse any transaction if ownership cannot be verified.

2. Device Information

When requesting a quote or submitting a device for sale, you must provide accurate and truthful information regarding the device.

This may include:

  • Device brand and model
  • Storage capacity
  • Device condition
  • Functional status
  • Any physical or internal faults
  • Whether the device powers on

Providing inaccurate or misleading information may result in:

  • A revised price offer
  • Rejection of the device
  • Cancellation of the transaction

3. Price Quotes

Any price shown on the website or provided by GadgetBox is an estimated quote based on the information provided by the customer.

The final offer may change after the device is inspected.

The offer may be adjusted if:

  • The condition differs from the description provided
  • Additional faults or damage are discovered
  • The device contains missing parts or components
  • The device is not fully functional

Customers will be informed before proceeding with the final transaction.

4. Device Inspection

All devices submitted for sale will undergo inspection and testing by GadgetBox.

Inspection may include checking:

  • Physical condition
  • Functional performance
  • IMEI number verification
  • Network status
  • Internal hardware condition

GadgetBox reserves the right to reject any device that does not meet our acceptance criteria.

5. Blacklisted or Stolen Devices

All devices may be checked against IMEI and stolen device databases.

If a device is found to be:

  • Blacklisted
  • Reported lost or stolen
  • Associated with fraudulent activity

GadgetBox reserves the right to:

  • Refuse the transaction
  • Retain the device where legally required
  • Report the matter to the relevant authorities if necessary.

6. Account Locks and Data Removal

Customers are responsible for removing all personal data from the device before selling it.

Customers must:

  • Back up their personal data
  • Perform a factory reset
  • Remove iCloud, Google, or other account locks
  • Disable activation locks and security features

Devices that remain locked to accounts may be rejected.

GadgetBox is not responsible for any personal data remaining on the device.

7. Ownership Transfer

Once payment has been issued, ownership of the device transfers permanently to GadgetBox.

After payment has been completed:

  • The seller will no longer have any claim over the device
  • The transaction cannot be reversed
  • The device becomes the property of GadgetBox

8. Payment

Payment will only be issued after the device has:

  • Passed inspection
  • Been verified as legally owned
  • Confirmed to match the declared condition

All payments are made via bank transfer only.

GadgetBox does not make cash payments for devices.

The seller may be required to provide:

  • Valid identification
  • Bank account details in their name

Payment will typically be processed within a reasonable timeframe after device inspection and approval.

GadgetBox reserves the right to delay or cancel payment if fraud checks or ownership verification are required.

9. Financed or Contract Devices

Devices that are subject to outstanding finance, lease agreements, or network contracts cannot legally be sold.

If a device is later discovered to have:

  • Outstanding finance
  • Network contract restrictions
  • Ownership disputes

GadgetBox reserves the right to:

  • Cancel the transaction
  • Recover losses where applicable
  • Report the matter to relevant authorities if required.

10. IMEI Blacklist Protection

If a device becomes blacklisted after the transaction due to reasons such as:

  • Insurance claims
  • Contract disputes
  • Fraud reports
  • Lost or stolen reports

GadgetBox reserves the right to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Selling a device that later becomes blacklisted due to previous ownership disputes may result in further investigation.

11. Refused Devices

If a device is rejected due to condition issues or policy violations, the seller may:

  • Accept a revised offer, or
  • Request the return of the device (where applicable).

Return shipping costs may apply if the device was sent by post.

12. Fraud Prevention

GadgetBox reserves the right to cancel any transaction suspected of fraud or unlawful activity.

Additional identity verification may be required before payment is issued.

13. Limitation of Liability

GadgetBox shall not be responsible for:

  • Any personal data remaining on the device
  • Accessories not included with the device
  • Loss resulting from inaccurate information provided by the seller

14. Changes to Terms

GadgetBox reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time.

Any updates will be published on this page with the revised date.

15. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising in relation to these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
